WOMEN FOR WOMEN o.p.s. (W4W) was founded on 12 October 2012 by Ivana and Pavel Tykač. From the outset, it has focused on supporting children and parents facing challenging life situations. Our projects and activities aim to ensure a decent life for all children without distinction. We think that every child deserves the opportunity to spend time with peers, share meals at kindergarten and school, and have a safe, dignified home. It is our belief that all these elements are essential for their healthy physical and mental development, self-confidence, and the chance for a successful future.  
 
Lunches for Children is our flagship project, designed to ensure that underprivileged children receive lunch at school. During the 2023/24 school year, more than 1,200 schools participated and almost 16,000 pupils registered to receive meals.  
 
In March 2023, we launched the Kindergarten Meals project to support pre-school children by covering the cost of their meals, as we believe that a regular and balanced diet is crucial for their healthy development and overall well-being.  
 
Housing for Children was our next nationwide project, aimed at assisting single parents facing financial difficulties. We provide a year-long support programme and rental deposits.
 
The Family Service project helps to mitigate the negative effects of the parents’ divorce on the children’s mental well-being.
 
Since 2023, we have been running an anonymous online counselling service called First Step, offering information as well as psychological and emotional support to those in need.
  
We are also committed to raising awareness of important issues, spotlighting the problems faced by single parents, children and families. Our goal is to find concrete solutions to improve their situations in the Czech Republic. We focus primarily on education, employment, affordable housing, and legislative change.
 
We strive to support the most vulnerable among us and give a voice to those who cannot advocate for themselves.

We hope to create a society where every child in the Czech Republic has an equal opportunity to live a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.
